Family and Culture

Raising a family, focused on Christ and His mission, in this present culture gets increasingly more difficult it seems like every week.  With everything around you in the world screaming out that you’re crazy for doing things the way the Bible says, it’s great to have instruction and encouragement along the way.  That’s why I love these selected messages from pastor, author, & speaker Voddie Baucham.  He is great at pointing out how we say one thing with our mouths while acting out just the opposite.  He also helps us see why and how we should live out the biblical mandates on dads and moms to raise their children in the way they should go (the way of Christ).  Men and women… even if you are not normally a podcast-type person or if you only listen to two messages per year on the topic of a biblical family… let it be these!  They are great instruction and wisdom for men and women, married and single, kids or no kids.

Baucham has been used by God in my life to correct, rebuke, and instruct me in my role as the head of my home.  I often re-listen to these messages and others to help keep me focused on how important it is for me to be the prophet, priest, and provider of my family.  It is so easy to get distracted in our society of busyness.  He has also helped me realize how important and esteemed my wife is because of the call God has placed on her for the day to day biblical instruction of our kids and how I am to serve her and love her as Christ does the church!  I hope they are as much a blessing to you as they have been for my wife and me.
